Wilder Building will be the new home to several dance companies
Trizart Alliance joined the team of professionals retained by La Societe Immobiliere du Quebec for the refurbishment and expansion of the Wilder building. Trizart is responsible for the scenographic aspects of both the building and specialized theatrical equipment.
The Wilder will be transformed into a new professional production and performance centre mainly focusing on dance and will become a permanent home for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Tangente and Les Ateliers de Danse Moderne de Montreal inc. (LADMMI).
The building, located in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles, will include a reconfigurable space to be used by Tangente for conception, production and performance, and a creation and rehearsal laboratory that will also be open to school and community activities. This new facility will also provide several rehearsal studios for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and dance instruction studios for LADMMI, each able to accommodate about thirty people.
Trizart Alliance’s mandate includes the design and specification of dance floors and surfaces, performance, creation and rehearsal studios, the design and specification of retractable risers as well as audio-visual systems, equipment and infrastructure, all controlled by a new multimedia control booth.
